Protein chocolate
My previous experiments with making a high protein chocolate fudge have capped out around 31% protein and featured substantial amounts of carbohydrates. This time around I tackled the problem head on, and instead of adding extra ingredients like apple sauce and honey to create a more “fudge” like consistency, I simply dumped one part whey in with one part 85% cocoa chocolate. The result is a yummy tasting chocolate, with 42% protein and only 12% carbohydrate 🙂 I’m not calling this “fudge” as it’s really just protein fortified chocolate. This recipe should be ideal for any of you wanting a yummy snack, while trying to maintain a low (ish) carb diet.
It doesn’t taste as good as plain old chocolate, but it’s one of the best high protein snacks I’ve tried yet.

Ingredients
100 g caramel flavoured whey protein
100 g chocolate (85% cocoa)
Instructions
Gently melt the chocolate. Thoroughly mix the whey protein together with the melted chocolate in a bowl. Roll the resulting brown mixture into a smooth round ball, then squash it flat onto a tray, then place it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Use a sharp knife to chop the chocolate block into separate pieces. It is ready to eat immediately, or you can wait for it to cool down first. Enjoy 🙂
I’m not sure how long you can store this at room temperature, but I intend to store it in my freezer for many months.
