Protein fudge
Published May 8th, 2015 under Food
A few people asked me for recipes for my protein bars lately. There are lots of recipes out there for protein bars, so here is the recipe for a yummy little batch of chocolate protein fudge instead. This recipe can likely be improved, so just leave a message in the comments if you know of any ways to improve on it 🙂

Ingredients
128 g whey protein
85 g chocolate (85% cocoa)
99 g crunchy peanut butter
43 g apple sauce
47 g honey
Instructions
Put the chocolate, peanut butter, apple sauce and honey in a bowl and microwave them on a low setting until they are melted together and warm (don’t overdo it or you will burn the chocolate).
Then pour in the whey protein and mulch it together into a big ball. You may need to spend a while kneeding it like a dough to properly mix it together. If the mixture is too wet, you can add more whey protein to dry it out a little.
When it’s ready, simply squash it flat on a dish and place it in the freezer. After 60 mins, you can cut the resulting fudge into pieces and it is ready to eat immediately 🙂
Bon appétit!

Is the whey natural or chocolate flavoured?

Ryan says:
I usually use vanilla flavoured whey, but I’ve used caramel as well. I don’t think the flavour of the whey makes too much difference as it gets somewhat overpowered by the flavours in the other ingredients. I’d probably use natural whey if I had it, but the flavoured stuff is usually a lot cheaper and I typically have a big container of it kicking around for making shakes with.
