Some users of the Spam Destroyer plugin have reported sporadic cases of legitimate users comments landing in the spam queue. I could never figure out why this was the case and simply put it down to users having cookies turned off. However Milan Dinić pointed out today that the default cookie length time was set to 10 minutes. If a commenter took longer than that to read the post, then write their comment, then the comment would automatically be filed as spam and never be posted.

The new version is available on WordPress.org.

Update on the beta version of the plugin

I’ve also been working on an experimental beta version of the plugin for a while now. It isn’t working perfectly just yet and so that version won’t be replacing the stable version of the plugin just yet. However it is available for download on the Spam Destroyer plugin page including a fix for the cookie timeout bug.
